In the summer, all colors are deeper. Grass's green is a dark majesty that rolls over hillsides. Variants of the loveliest browns cascade in fence lines and bark. My dog's fur is a mass of the blackest opaque night. But the blue is what holds my gaze. Only in the summer, when the sun has set, the sky retains its blue for a little longer. It's not the oven hot hazy blue you see in the afternoon, but has transformed into a breathtaking color that you can't describe but it's dark and it's lovely. Sitting in this hot breeze, I am timeless. But the horrors of time do not halt, and I am caught in the middle, wishing for moments that are rapidly disappearing, and sadly ticking letters on a keyboard.
